It’s a new feature film we start shooting this coming week. Working on a few re-writes right now. Prepping the shoot schedule. This will be my first crack at a slasher film (kinda).
Since we’re experiencing a few delays for shooting dates on REDD, we’re gonna knock out this shoot and see if we can’t have two feature films to plug this Fall/Winter.
I’m being very heavily influenced by my love for Friday The 13th (1980) and especially Halloween (1978). The score I’m putting together is very much like John Carpenter. The shots I see in my head are very close to how Halloween was shot.
Here’s the plot:
2 girls desperately in need of money hatch a plan to capture a serial killer in order to collect the reward money.
The base of it is Slasher / Horror, but the very essence of it is Thriller / Comedy. If I make you laugh more than I make you jump, I’m perfectly fine with that.
My goal is to have 2 movies done and ready to push before Halloween. Maybe even set up a couple of screenings this Halloween season.
It really is going to be the most bad ass indie scifi adventure movie. Check it out and see how you can help us finish this. We’re so frickin close to finishing. We just need your pledges.
More random pics from the set of my feature film REDD. 5 more months and this thing will be done.
As expected we’ve got a ton of audio work to be done, and unfortunately we have re-shoots to do. We have plenty of scenes we’ve started shooting and never finished, mainly because they were special fx scenes where the setup took longer than expected. Especially scenes involving monster make-up. But it’s always fun to shoot when the make up looks this good. Richard in full Werewolf make-up is always creepy fun to shoot.
Still got a bunch of props and creature costumes to build. A giant pumpkin monster, gotta re-build the giant Werewolf, working on a futuristic Soldier/Robot costume, and 2 Spaceships, and some futuristic set pieces.
